The Challenge
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global professional services firm specialising in turnaround and interim management, performance improvement and business advisory services. A&M seeks to accelerate performance of clients through deploying industry experts to address their businesses challenges.
A&M’s UK office had the opportunity to pitch for a significant business review and restructuring project of a household name retailer. They called upon insight with their retail industry knowledge to act as associates on the team and help formulate the presentation to the prospective client.
The Assignment
Our retail and commercial knowledge of the sector was used to reshape how the project was to be undertaken and the re-focus of the template A&M pitch presentation. The core benefits to the client both short and long term were drawn out to demonstrate the immediate impact the A&M project team could have and how a lasting legacy of improvement could be left.
A high impact proposal and presentation were delivered within a 6-day timeframe and delivered to the client.
The Insight Impact
An insight partner was asked to join the team to deliver the pitch for the £150k project.
The focus was to provide the retailer with operational support to the Management team to help them:
- Clarify root causes of under-performance
- Clarify the initiatives essential to recovery and the priority for delivery
- Instil impetus and a drive to make change happen
Provide structure and coaching to enable delivery of the improvement agenda.
